CIC7 comes to an end!

After a long 3 days "battle-of-the-teams" at CIC7:ME, esp. panik emerged as the winners and gabbed the prize money of RM 2000. Coming in at second place was none other than SWL. abuse, while FFF Grz grabbed a stunning third placing.

However, the biggest highlight througout the 3 days of competition was perhaps the triple overtime of FFF Grz versus esp kuso. Both teams made a huge effort to keep up the focus during the overtime rounds of knockout_mr3. All the players from the COD 4 community who had come to support on the final day had gathered around, eyes peeled only on the computer screens in both zone 1 and zone 2 computers of Blitzone, to watch the decider of who would get to advance to the loser's bracket finals. Ajeet, better known as Himself, did a fantastic nade on the backlot B site planter and was met with a momentous roaring cheer from all the spectators. His comment later on went something like this:

"You know when i did that nade in backlot B bombsite, it was like HOLY **** there's so many people..."

You'd imagine how tense and how much suspense was in the air. During the final round of the triple overtime, DA (our kind community shoutcaster) even started to shoutcast for the match. He just couldn't resist =D

In the group stages, Bengz from XIII did a very, very, very sneaky ninja defuse. Imagine him running out of cafe in crossfire, totally ignoring the report of an enemy right beside him, he lunged out and ran straight for the B bombsite. Dalai from Pendulum, right after defusing, sprinted away to hide into watermelons. But Bengz had the better of him and defused right after Dalai had planted. Then the crowd just went mad when the bomb was defused. Even though Pendulum might have won that round, Bengz still has the last laugh!

A commendation should really be given to FFF Grz for their spectacular 3rd placing in the competition. They were clearly the underdogs and were among the least expected to place in the double elimination stage. Their performance during the group stages already showed their potential as they managed to qualify to battle it out on the final day of CIC7:ME. In the group stages, they gained just enough advantage over Coop G-force, not to mention knocking out SWL. Sharks in the double elimination stage. They carried on to defeat esp kuso in a draw and triple overtime match, 12-12, 3-3, 3-3, 4-2.

But, let's not forget about all the other teams who took part. It would not have been such a great event without all the other teams who participated. Doesn't matter if you sent 1 team, 2 teams or 7 teams (XD) your support shows how far we have come to strive through a time where COD 4 was seemingly dying and show a break through to show everyone what Malaysian COD 4 is really like. Thanks to the organizers and everyone who helped out for the event =D

Hope to see you all again at MMU's GameFest in about 2 weeks time :D

BTW, did you guys know that fnatic won CIC7 in holland?
