Configuring your "cl_maxpackets"

Here's a tip if that might help you make your fps more stable while playing on online servers.

If you know the config using "cl_maxpackets ", you might want to take a look back at the setting you are using. In EU server mods, meaning anything with a mod using "promodlive204_EU", the config "cl_maxpackets 100" is locked to the "100" value. COD 4 communities outside of EU have found the value not suitable for their broadband connections. So, some of them have tested and found a more suitable setting.

Typical "sweet-spot settings" include:

cl_maxpackets 63
com_maxfps 125

cl_maxpackets 100
com_maxfps 100

cl_maxpackets 84
com_maxfps 250

If you're worrying about getting that annoying "buzzzz" sound when entering servers, rest assured that there are many servers are using "promodlive204_NA" mod. the "_NA" mod was created so that the value for "cl_maxpackets" was not restricted to a value of "100". However, for "_EU" mods...too bad (warning: "Stupid BUZZ sound include if your maxpackets are not set to 100).
